Remember when I started this quilt forever ago? I started a quilt along for my Flower Patch quilt pattern - one of my favorite quilts that I have designed.  I also promised to show you how I quilted this top, so a video tutorial is going to be posted in a couple of days - watch for that.

This is a quilt pattern designed by Minick and Simpsonmade in traditional colors, but the coloring in this quilt is more up my alley. I am so happy to share this project with you.  This is a project that I knew I needed to complete since November, but it wasn't until last month that I knew what I was going to do.  This is going to be part of a special collection of small quilts by several designers to raise awareness for Libby Lehman. She is a quilt artist and teacher who suffered a stroke last April.

I am happy to say that I finally have another finish under my belt.  It has been a while.  I am busy, life is crazy, but I am happy to be able to finally share this beautiful quilt with you.  Gwen pieced and appliqued this gorgeous quilt using Kaffe Fassett fabrics, it turned out beautiful!

I thought it would be fun to show you the back of the quilt first.  I love plain backings, seriously!  It is so nice to see my work and not have it lost in a large fabric print.  So, thank you Helen for using a solid backing for this quilt.  This is my second quilt for Helen - she is so great to work with and I really hope she loves this quilt.

Okay, so I live in a desert playground.  This area, Snow Canyon is just 20 minutes away from me.  I decided I wanted to try the red rock backdrop for my newest quilt design.  I am always so happy when I take the time to visit the incredible places around me.

Okay, I have had this quilt on the racks for a bit.  It's huge!  It is so beautiful though.  Jan did a beautiful job piecing this quilt top.  This is a pattern by Judy Martin and can be found in her book Stellar Quilts. I used a combo of 100% cotton and an 80/20 blend batting.  The top thread was Glide and the bobbin thread was So Fine.
