Last week I was able to sneak in 2 little projects.  This first project is an applique pattern featured in the book: Applique Outside the Linesby  Piece O Cake designs. I love it.  Robin pieced and appliqued this wall hanging and I think it is just beautiful.   

I quilted a swirl in the borders and a swirl/circle design in the background fabric. I quilted around the applique to make it stand out....

 

This quilt is a special quilt for my sister's in-laws - they just don't know it yet - it is a surprise for their wedding anniversary coming up this month.  This quilt was a combined effort between me and my mom.  The pattern is "Quilted Memories" designed by me. However, we decided to make the pictures a little bit larger in this quilt to really show off the family photos. Don't you think my mom...

 

So, I finished this quilt today.  Sadly, I cannot share the whole quilt with you yet, that is why it is torture for me.  The quilt is called Fire & Ice and is designed by Kimberly Einmo and you can watch for it in the Quilter's Newsletter Best Modern Quilts!  Fingers crossed it makes the cover, that would be fun!! It is always a pleasure to work with Kimberly, she is so talented.

Okay, this is my second project that I have quilted for Lindsay.  She is such a fun client to work with and her work is incredible.  Her piecing was so precise on this quilt.  

I used Glide for the top thread and So Fine thread for the bobbin. It was a great combo - I have used it before, and I did not have any trouble with it. I used a combo of 100% cotton and 80/20 blend batting. I think it...

Alright!  This quilt was so fun to quilt!  I loved every minute of this quilting job. Pam did a beautiful job piecing this quilt top - it was so straight, and the points were perfect! The pattern is Science Fair by Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts- a very clever pattern and one that I would like to make for myself someday. Lynette contacted me about a year ago to have one of her quilts finished by me. I am always honored to work on customer quilts and this one was no different.  It's funny, someone left a comment on my sneak peek of this quilt and mentioned that Kaywas quilting this exact same quilt. I couldn't believe it!! At first I was a little nervous about that thought. It is always heart wrenching to think...

I would get a ton of stuff done! I managed to do laundry, clean the kitchen, play with the kids and start a quilt and finish it all in one day.  This will go down as one of the most productive days in my history.  The kids were great and since the weather is so incredible here, they played outside and did not need me every two seconds!
