So, I have been wanting to share this quilt forever!  I finished it in the summer and I had to wait to blog about the whole quilt.  This quilt is designed by Kimberly Einmo and quilted by me.  The name of the quilt is Fire and Ice and was recently showcased in AQS Quilt Weekin Des Moines. Before I left for Romania, I finished this beautiful applique quilt pieced by Beth.  This quilt is so beautiful and was fun to work on.  Sad thing is, I was in such a hurry to get the quilt sent out that I didn't get the pictures I wanted to.  Oh well, at least I have a few.  So, the quilt is called: Fly Away With Me by Marge Georgefor Material Obsession. This took Beth over a year to complete.

Clint and I left this past week for Romania. First, I feel like I need to answer just a couple questions that have come up. Yes, Clint and I pay for transportation to and from Romania, plus lodging and our own food - all of the donated money from you goes towards the cause. We like to visit a country in Europe each time we come to Romania since we fly so far to get there. So, please don't forget...

I finished another "secret project" this week.  I had a lot of fun quilting this particular quilt.  It was simpler quilting for me.  Funny, sometimes I crave simple, but then I miss the detail.  Goes to show that it's hard to be content with where you are at.  ;-)  I will work on that, the content part.

 The hardest part about working on quilts that I can't share is just that - I can't share.  So, I have been busy.  Just not busy writing my blog, sorry about that! 

I just finished this quilt, it's gorgeous.  It is going to be in a book, but I don't know the title or when it will be out, so stayed tuned and I will let you know as soon as I know.

It is a rare day when I do not have a quilt on the racks on a Saturday, but this last Saturday I did.  Lili made a quilt using one layer cakeduring the summer for a surprise birthday gift for her brother, but we haven't gotten to the quilting until now. Okay, I have had this quilt on the racks for a bit.  It's huge!  It is so beautiful though.  Jan did a beautiful job piecing this quilt top.  This is a pattern by Judy Martin and can be found in her book Stellar Quilts. I used a combo of 100% cotton and an 80/20 blend batting.  The top thread was Glide and the bobbin thread was So Fine.

 

After I finished piecing my Flower Patch quilt, I decided to clean off my sewing area. It looks great for now and it is just sitting here looking pretty, waiting for me to come up with my next sewing project.
