A lot of you don't know that my mom and I started out on our quilting adventure together.  She loves to design, and she is wonderful at it.  She makes beautiful quilts with her own designs that you just want to make.  That is what I thought when she showed me her original "Flea Market Flowers" quilt. I have dibs on the original one... Anyway, I have been trying to get...

Em's Tree of Life

1

I have to say, I love Emily! She is one of my dearest friends and it is always a treat to quilt for her. She has her own style, and I love it! I never want to take away from the heart she puts into each quilt. So, hopefully the quilting just enhances her art. Here is what she said about her quilt:
"The story is simple...we were moving to Seattle and the animal fabric seemed like what I would...

Nan's Lone Star

1

Okay, let's say this Lone Star quilt has taken me way too long to get done.  But, the results are well worth the wait, I think. This is Nan and Joe's quilt - this is my second quilt for them.  You can see their first quilt here. It is always a pleasure to work with Nan and Joe - they are the sweetest couple and the nicest people you will ever meet. Plus, they have been so patient with me. Thank...

An evening outside with the fam.......

1

So, it's so rare when there is an eclipse - and one that you get to see the Ring of Fire right in your back yard.  We had a ton of fun with the little monkey's last night getting our glimpse of this spectacular event.
2

Clint thought ahead and got us some glasses for our viewing pleasure. We read about "fried eyes syndrome" and I made sure I freaked out the kids so they wouldn't look at the sun...

Lucy's Crabshack Bundle

There have to be some perks to having an online quilt store! So, meet my newest member to my very low fabric stash, none other than Lucy's Crab ShackFQB by Sweetwater. Oh, I did have to put up a fight to get this one - seems like the honey wants to sell it instead. Final act that won the battle was me throwing the bundle underneath my quilting frames far from reach, then he caved! Thanks Babe - I...

Simple Allover....and the winner is.......

simple allover ;-)
The lighting made the thread look gold, but it's red like the fabric.
Okay, so I have been getting some quilting done, finally, and I decided this simple free motion allover would work great in some large areas of the quilt I am working on. Simple? Well, my simple.... ;-) It wouldn't be my quilt if I didn't quilt it like crazy, enough to make my back hurt.

So, the winner of Emily's book and my g...
