My quilting is in a magazine!

That's my name in a magazine!
There is something so great about seeing your name in print, in a national magazine and knowing that your work will be appreciated by lots of quilters. I have to admit that the feeling never gets old and thinking back to when I started this quilting journey, I never thought this would be possible. So, at times I just have to pinch myself to make sure it is real.

Last August I quilted a quilt that I knew I could not share for a long time, so I am happy to now share the quilt with you. I knew the quilt would be in the April issue of American Patchwork & Quilting, but I had no idea it would be the 20th Anniversary Issue - doubly cool!

This super cute quilt is designed by Holly Hickman, she works for Moda and I was lucky enough to be asked to quilt it. Holly wanted the background of the quilt to look like tree bark.  So, I had my sister (thanks Jess) sketch out the tree bark on the quilt top.  She did a very rough sketch, then I added the detail to the quilting as I went along. The end result is definitely worth the effort I went to in added detail. ;-)

I had so much fun quilting this up, the lines and filler design are all free motion quilting.

The tree knots turned out so cool!

It is so great to share this project with you, finally.  So, if you have the magazine - look it up on page 75 and if you want to make this darling quilt - we have kits in the shop here

In other news, we have a giveaway going on here, I have a quilt on that is going to be amazing (I can't wait to share that with you) and I am pretty sure next week I will have a cover of my book with more info when it comes out. I can not wait to share that with you, so stay tuned! ;-)
