I had fun with this one!

I just loved quilting this quilt for Beth. On this quilt I had fun with the applique, I have always stayed away from quilting inside appliques, but I am getting more comfortable with it now and it really adds to the quilt. One quilt done, one to go, or maybe I could give myself a break? I would feel completely guilty.

Muertos

I don't have to tell you that there is a lot going on with this quilt. It's a super fun quilt done by Emily and I had a lot of fun quilting it. I feel bad I haven't blogged about it until now, but you know, life is crazy and I am trying to get a lot done before Christmas so I can have a little bit of a holiday break.

There is so much going on and these picture only show a portion of the quilting...

A favorite!

Amongst all the hubbub of last week, (thanks for the well wishes, Micah is doing fine) I did manage to get a couple quilts done. This particular quilt is by far my favorite quilt. I had a really hard time giving this one up today. I just love it. I did small pebbling in the main focus blocks and on the edges I did the shadowing. Great effect I think and it did save some time, I normally would...

Another quilt..................

I simply loved this quilt. I did a lot of quilting, but it isn't tight quilting. I put this quilt, made by Dawn, on my bed and just looked at it all day. I really wanted to keep this one. I plan on having a new quilt for my bed someday, but you know, so little time with so many things to do. I never seemed to be caught up.

Feathers Anyone?

This amazing quilt called "Fresh Cut Flowers" was pieced by Virginia Affleck. Amazing, simply amazing. I was totally nervous to quilt this quilt because she only spent like 400 hours piecing this thing. Wow, a lot of work.

I just had fun with feathering on this quilt, this quilt needed something beautiful and flowwy, feathers are perfect for that.

I used silver Highlight thread from Superior...

Back in the saddle again......

So last week we can call it a bust because Clint's family was here (we had a wonderful time) but I didn't get much done. This quilt is another Emily quilt. I put it on the frames last week and finished it last night. That will tell you how much I didn't get done last week. But I loved this one, it's a lot like her "napkin" but there was more feathering in this quilt and it was a lot bigger.

I...

Emily's Napkin

I have so much fun doing Emily's quilts or "napkins" she lovingly calls them. This one was only 22 inches squares and I put a lot of quilting into it. What I love about Emily's quilts is that they are not your traditional quilts and she tells me to "do your thing" when it comes to the quilting. It allows me to be creative and just have fun, which means I usually quilt every last section of the...

Irish Chain Quilt

This week I have been working on this quilt. It was huge!! 109 x 110 inches.

I did the feather circle centers and pebbling to fill it in.

Feathers and leaves filled in the borders. Here's a shot of the back. I love how it turned out.

So, this next week will be crazy as I get ready to go to Romania. I tried to make it so that I didn't have any projects to have the week before I leave, but it looks...

Another week of quilting and more...

I have managed to get 4 quilts quilted this week. The quilts weren't huge, so it was a nice little break from the big quilts I have been doing. I am going to see if I can get one more quilt done Saturday, wish me luck. The quilt above is a store sample for Scrap Apple Quilts, and I hope they like it. I love going into Shirley's (owner) store, it's my favorite quilt shop here in St. George.

I am...

Butterfly Quilt

Diane Johnston put together this beautiful quilt and trusted me to do the quilting.

As you can see I took on the butterfly theme of the quilt and ran with it!

These applique butterflies were so well done, I couldn't believe the quality of the applique. It was hand applique and it was perfect.

This was my favorite block. Hope you like it, I have been working on this quilt all week. Now I can breathe...
