Market Recap - part 1

market1
So, like the nerd I am I agreed to let Clint take a picture of me at the airport with the Quilt Market sign. It was funny to me because he said "this Market must be a big deal" referring to the welcoming sign in the airport. I love him, he makes me laugh. When I told Clint that I wanted to go to Market, he thought about it for two seconds and booked us the plane tickets and a place to stay....

Happy Mom's Day Tomorrow..

bag1
I made this quilted bag for my mom for Mother's Day.  It started out as a Christmas present, then life and quilting happened and it ended up in the WIP pile.  Recently I was motivated to pull it out again and put it together. I made this bag from my "Carry All Tote" pattern, however I tweeked it a little by using a Jelly Roll for the strips instead of Honey Bun strips. I used a Bella Solids...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUDI!!!!!!!!!

So I (Clint) decided to hack into Judi's blog account, even though she told me not to, so I could let you all know it's her birthday today.  She's 32 years young and still as beautiful as the day I married her!

Giveaway time!!

Posh Pumpkins by Sandy Gervais
This time of year is wonderful, we are outside - the sun is shining and we are thinking spring!  So, why does Thanksgiving and Christmas fabric come out right now?  I have always wondered that, but realized it is because a lot of us quilters out there are already planning our Thanksgiving and Christmas projects for this year.

Sneak Peek

kimberly einmo sneak peek
I wish I could share with you this whole quilt, but I just can't right now.  This is a quilt for Kimberly Einmo and her upcoming "Modern" quilt book.  She has a few books out now, and they are awesome!  I own three of her books and she never disappoints with her easy to follow instructions and adorable quilt tops. You can purchase her books on her website here or on Amazon here, here, and here.

Something to share! A beautiful quilt story...

Lynette contacted me about a year ago to have one of her quilts finished by me. I am always honored to work on customer quilts and this one was no different.  It's funny, someone left a comment on my sneak peek of this quilt and mentioned that Kaywas quilting this exact same quilt. I couldn't believe it!! At first I was a little nervous about that thought. It is always heart wrenching to think...

MIA

After Lili's baptism and several weeks of family in town I had a few days to finish up two quilt projects. The goal was to finish them and blog about them before I took off on a trip to Mexico with Clint. Well, I am happy to say the quilts got finished, but the blogging didn't happen. I was trying to blog 20 minutes before I had to leave to catch a plane. So, I gave up and realized that I will...

A big day.

So, I know I haven't posted forever.  I am sorry about that.  We have literally had 5 family visitors (in the form of families with lots of kids) in as many weeks and needless to say it is a madhouse around here.  But, I wanted to share with you that today is my daughter Lili's baptismday. It's a big day for us, and with her being the oldest she is setting a great...

A couple things...

Sneak Peak
So, this is what is on the frames right now and this design has been really fun! But, for some reason yellow thread is my enemy at this point. The first triangle I quilted at the top of the quilt (not shown) was quilted in what I thought was yellow Magnifico thread, but holy cow - it turned neon green on the fabric. Needless to say, I have to unpick and start fresh. Then, my other matching thread...
